Words Full of Life

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.
Today’s Thought
Jesus said this right after a hard teaching, when many of His followers were turning away. He didn’t water down His words to keep the crowd. He told them where life is found: in what He says. That shows us something about God. He doesn’t just hand out advice. He gives life, and He gives it through His Word. Our own effort can keep us busy, but it can’t make us alive. Only God can do that. That’s the heart of Word Is Life. We open the Bible each day not to check a box, but to hear from the One whose words are full of life.
Put It Into Practice
Read today’s verse slowly three times. Then ask Jesus, “What do You want to say to me today?” and give Him a minute of quiet.
