Some of us picture God as easily irritated, arms crossed, waiting for us to mess up. David paints a very different picture. God is gracious, giving us what we don’t deserve. He’s compassionate, moved by what we’re going through. He’s slow to anger, patient far beyond what we’d be. And He’s rich in love, with more than enough to go around. How we see God shapes how we treat people. When we remember how patient He’s been with us, it gets easier to be patient with others.

The next time someone frustrates you today, pause and take a breath before you respond. Give them the patience God has given you.
