A Gift, Not a Paycheck
Today’s Scripture
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.
Today’s Thought
Salvation is a gift we receive, not a paycheck we earn, and God made it that way on purpose. If we could earn it, we’d either be proud that we did or crushed that we couldn’t. Grace takes both off the table. God is generous by nature. He gives what we could never buy. And you don’t work off a gift; you say thank you for it. Our good works aren’t how we get to God. They’re how we respond to Him.
Put It Into Practice
Write down three things God has given you that you didn’t earn, and thank Him for each one.
